Equipment Scope is Second-Hand

Process Flow
**Wet processing** starts with a hydraulic fleshing machine; the layer of flesh and fat beneath the hide is scraped off. The sammying machine removes excess water and chemicals after tanning and smooths the surface; the feed speed is adjusted between 10–44 m/min according to the thickness of the hide.
**Thickness and Surface** stage involves a shaving machine that reduces the hide to the desired thickness — this is the machine that determines whether the product will be for footwear, clothing, or upholstery. The buffing machine gives a suede/nubuck texture or eliminates surface defects.
**Pressing and Ironing** stage operates with a hot oil system: it smooths the hide with 18 kW heating power and gives an ironing effect to the surface.
**Measurement** stage is commercially critical. In leather trade, prices are based on surface area; the optical sensor-equipped leather area measuring machine measures with a tolerance of 1/10,000 and scans 1,000–1,200 small ruminant pieces per hour. Measurement errors directly result in revenue loss.
**Finishing** stage includes a dye booth, polishing machine, and testing cabinet. The testing cabinet allows for the small sample testing of the recipe before mass production begins.
